Bakersfield City School District employed Klassen Corporation for the modernization of the Compton Jr. High campus and the accompanying site improvements. The school was originally founded in 1960 and holds 675 students. The project included the modernization of existing administration, multi-purpose building, and classroom buildings totaling 56,021 square feet. Site work included ADA upgrades, landscaping, and a new kindergarten playground. Building improvements include window upgrades, ceiling, lighting, and HVAC along with new foam roofing system. Interior upgrades also include new fixtures, cabinetry, doors and hardware along with a campus wide fire alarm upgrade.
