Performance Food Group

Performance Food Group is one of the largest, and fastest growing, food service distributors. PFG is also the leading fresh-cut produce processor in the nation. Klassen Corporation was retained as general contractor to build a new distribution center in Shafter, CA. The 138,000 square foot facility includes a 24,000 sq. ft. freezer, 68,000 sq. ft. of dry storage, offices, refrigerated dock, cooler, and garage. With more than two dozen bays, the centrally located distribution facility is able to accommodate their customers throughout central
California. In addition the facility also includes a separate maintenance building measuring 6,000 sq. ft.

After the completion of phase 1 of the PFG building, Klassen Corporation was recommissioned to design and build phase 2, a cold and dry storage expansion. In the second phase, Klassen provided design build services for a cold and dry storage addition. The addition added 23,000 square feet to the dry storage and 39,000 square feet of freezer storage. Along with the addition, ADA upgrades were brought up to date throughout the office area.
