Delano Animal Shelter

Klassen Corporation was commissioned by the City of Delano to construct the new community Animal Shelter. The new facility is a pre-engineered metal building with a large outdoor dog park. The amenities include a food preparation room, laundry room, and miscellaneous storage room. The shelter is 4,990 sq. ft. and has the capacity to hold up to 90 kennels. The building includes a front office, administration area, drive-in garage for the Animal Control vehicles, quarantine area for animals who need special treatment, and roll up doors on each lateral side. In addition, this new facility offers insulated walls which keeps the temperature cool in summer and warm in winter. Each steel kennel has a lifting door to move the animals when cleaning or feeding which was designed for easy transitions with minimal disruption to the animals.
